Remember leftists believe that democracy is a sham. Workers suffer from “false consciousnes” and vote against their self interest. Better to hand over power to the elite. This is the model for the EU. Nations don’t matter. Democracy doesn’t matter. The EU has the power and runs the nation states. People not acting right? Just replace them with migrants.
Along with the potential violence there’s a political blowback possible like that that hit Republicans after Clinton was impeached for lying under oath.
