If you break it down the USA's population has grown 3 fold since the end of WWII. We have enough babies. We don't need babies from third world countries where the average IQ is 85-90.
Much of that is from immigration, and from poverty torn inner cities.
We are also an aging population because people are living longer, which only makes the strain harder. Someone has to pay for the benefits "you" expect to collect, and "you" didn't produce enough future tax payers to pay for them.
Shipping the jobs they would need to pay for "your" benefits isn't helping either, but I think you and I agree on that.
But why import a single additional person into the USA if this is the case?
We've always been a nation of immigrants. At what point did legal immigration become the problem?
In a shrinking economy this is incredible burden on the indigenous population.
It isn't a shrinking economy, but an economy that is being exported.
And yes, we have been a burden on the indigenous population.
