I think this is very different time.
As to Trump being old, not in today’s world.
Trump and Bill Clinton are the same age. Clinton has heart problems and debauched himself while Trump has led a life free of most vices. His energy level is that of a 25 year old compared to Hillary, she is more like 80.
Indeed, Trump and Hillary are both old, and Bernie is even older. All are products of the sexual revolution that has turned the country upside down. Proof that it has won the culture. And by accepting Trump, evangelicals are proof that the Moral Majority are history. As for comparing Bill and Donald, I think they have shared the same fantasy island.
All time’s are different. My point is that Trump is a great communicator riding a great wave of disaffection that is probably not powerful enough toe carry him to victory. Now a caution. I don’t think that Donald is as unacceptable to the elites as Bryan was. On the other hand, the blacks and the Europeans immigrants who served the political machines of the great cities had little in common with Bryan as Trump as with todays’s blacks and the immigrant class.
Historical parallels are never exact, but It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
