If conservatism had been winning any elections, "this place" still might be able to concern itself solely with ideology over exigency. But right now, the issue is the very survival of the Republic; and in a life-or-death emergency, you don't call a theoretician; you call an elder, a fearless leader with practical skills for the situation at hand and the courage to go where no one else has had the stones to tread.
"Conservatives" have failed. They had good ideas, but failed to market them. They failed to garner enough popular support; they failed to keep their Senators, Congressmen and RNC apparachiks in line, to educate the public, or to take on the truly important issues in any way that would have forestalled the destructiion now apparent. The worst debacle in a century was failure to win the White House in 2012, and that failure goes back to conservatives' failure to nominate a true conservative with a conservative machine behind him. No machine had been built. No conservative back bench or pipeline had been fundraised, groomed and developed.
Conservatism as an ideology with majority electoral support has not won an election since Ronald Reagan in 1980. Blame whatever you want; but at least some of the blame has to rest with the limousine "conservatives" who gave speeches, syndicated talk shows, sold books and published magazines instead of putting their "lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor" on the line to stop the left's very obvious and blatant takeover; it has to rest with Tea Party "conservatives" elected to stop Obama in 2012 who folded like cheap suits the minute they hit the lobbyists slush funds, whorehouses and blackmail pits of Washington, DC. Conservatism failed when think tanks like Heritage have wasted millions of dollars on junk mail from unlikely donors to build a new wing, while failing, along with other "conservative" think tanks, to develop an effective strategy for blocking the oligarchic destruction of our Constitution's effect and meaning.
There is only one candidate in this race who is doing those three heroic things: the one who is self-funding. With more to lose than any of those other milktoasts, jokers and good ol' boys, he has put his entire life on the line and the fates of his entire large family. He may not be a conservative purist, although his support of capitalism and "borders, language, culture" is the most conservative in the race. But he is an American who actually lived when the nation was free, understood what it is to live in freedom and wants it back, was born here to parents who were citizens, and is the only one in the race who is not taking campaign funds from foreigners, Soros, GoldmanSachs or GOP hacks. And those are facts.
Much love for your commentary! Thank you!
GREAT job!
