By New York, at the latest, Cruz will be mathematically eliminated from receiving 1237 delegates. When he stays in the race after that, his true character and agenda will be revealed for all of those who are willing to see.
I think Trump will likely reach the magic number on the first ballot. The rules committee may try to change the rules before hand to steal the vote from him, but Trump seems to be aware of their intent and preparing for it.

With record negatives, the nastiest, crudest, most craven, most hated man in the history of GOP primaries, Mr Sleazy tRump will get his sorry butt handed to him after he fails to win in the first round of voting and most delegates abandon him and vote for someone else. This vulgar buffoon will NEVER be the GOP candidate.

Should Trump withdraw when he fails to reach 1237? The reason for a convention is to select a candidate who reaches 1237 on any ballot, not just the first one.
