The Overton window, also known as the window of discourse, is the range of ideas the public will accept. It is used by media pundits.[1][2] The term is derived from its originator, Joseph P. Overton (1960ââ¬â2003),[3] a former vice president of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy,[4] who in his description of his window claimed that an idea's political viability depends mainly on whether it falls within the window, rather than on politicians' individual preferences.[5] According to Overton's description, his window includes a range of policies considered politically acceptable in the current climate of public opinion, which a politician can recommend without being considered too extreme to gain or keep public office.
Rather then posting their usual collection of daily bile laced infantile personal attack tirades at Trump and his supporters, perhaps "Conservatories and Libertarians", might want to thank Trump for changing the national political paradigm so far in their direction that a "President Cruz" is now a distinct possibility.
Did you listen to Rush today, he said that the media is praising Trump like they did when McCain ran - how the the Left loves and promotes the guy they see as “growing” in his philosophy, ideology (moving toward their way of thinking).
But Trump has always been in line with the Left’s way of thinking.
Cruz is no Donald Trump candidate. His conversion on immigration issues is literally about 2 months old, since he spent the previous 9 months evading questions and refusing to take legalization off the table when specifically asked "Is legalization for illegals off the table?" Cruz's other problem is his devotion to the "Free-Trade" cult.
Cruz attracts blue collar workers because of: 1) Immigration 2) Opposition to the status quo with NAFTA and all other trade agreements.
Cruz is not a serious opponent to TPP, but, at best, only opposes certain aspects of it. The philosophy of TPP is Ted Cruz's.
If Trump is out of the race, large numbers of his voters are out of the race too, and will probably vote Democrat since they'll be turned off by the economic/trade policies of Cruz or any other GOP candidate.

Quite a few of us here already feel that way, Johnnie.
I am a Cruz supporter, but I greatly appreciate what Mr. Trump is doing for the cause.
And... should DT win the nomination, you damn straight I’d pull the lever for him. With gusto.
ACTUALLY, I was wondering if Trump was trying to force the hand of Cruz ..?? When you’re a forceful person, you certainly don’t want to take as a partner, a person who is not willing to stand up and call a spade a spade.
It’s just interesting to me .. because I wondered if Trump was worried about Cruz not really getting upset about Trump’s onslaught of comments re Cruz’s birth ..??
