I can easily understand city fathers siding with a proven developer committing to a project that creates numerous jobs over Nell's right to happy taste buds.
The token value of compensation is not mere language;it is experience. Not only is the problem discussed in the literature, but my own extended family has experienced it first hand.
As for Nell’s cow, if she can’t protect what she values in that cow, her ownership is illusory. Some would sell their freedom for a good burger. Not me, and not the people who founded and built this country.
