Cruz may indeed be the high delegate man after the Primaries, but I doubt he will be the nominee. The RNC has control of that and the RNC is not keen on Cruz, or Trump, or anyone but Bush or possibly Rubio if the Bush family agrees.

If Cruz or Trump win the necessary delegates in the primaries and caucuses, and the GOP denies then the nomination you can kiss the Republican Party officially goodbye from being a nationally viable political entity. If four million conservatives stayed home you can double maybe triple that number in the next election if this scenario occurs.

The delegates at the convention will NOT be interested in any tomfoolery with the rules committee, and John Ellis Bush does NOT have the bodies to be unfaithful delegeates after the first ballot. Look at video of the 1976 Convention (when Ford HAD a majority of delegates) and multiply by 100 to see what will happen.
Viva! Ole!

The base is fully aware of the establishment’s desire to brush their choice aside and nominate their own establishment stooge. They are watching.
Let them try it. It’ll likely would result in the party’s destruction.
