I’m not so sure that Carson will bring in the black vote for the simple reason that many think of him as an “Uncle Tom,” just like they did with Herman Cain and yes, Michael Steele when he was head of the RNC. Look at the things they say about Clarence Thomas. I’m also not sure which states Carson could pull in and we need Florida and Ohio to win. Hopefully, we can flip a blue state too - just what states do you see Carson being able to pull in for Trump? Paul Ryan couldn’t even deliver WI for Romney. For that matter, Romney couldn’t even deliver his home state. I’m not so sure that Trump will carry NY either - that state is completely a nanny state now - as is CA.

Probably a myth that running mates bring in any states. Maybe back in ‘60 with Kennedy/Johnson bringing in Texas, not even sure about that.

Trump/Cruz

We are going to have to win this election without the Hispanic vote. We need every white and black vote we can manage. I know he won’t convince them all. The thing is though, he doesn’t need to convince them all. He only needs to convince just enough of them and only in a few key battle ground states and only in a few key counties. I like Ted Cruz but I like winning more. Whatever it takes.
