If “the Donald” really wanted to be president, he would run as a democrat. The field is wide open. He could wipe the floor against Hillary and be guaranteed 47% of the electorate - another 5-8% low information “independent” and hello president Trump. Surely he has the political instincts to see that. Oprah has the same opportunity if she wants it. (It would be sweet to see Oprah say “Hillary, you are a liar” and then the audience cheers wildly).

The same could be said of a number of Republican candidates.
Just because ¡Yeb! and the others claim to be conservative does not make it so. Anyone who advocates abandoning the rule of law is not conservative and that’s 3/4’s of the field.

Cruz is the only consistently conservative one in the bunch.

Trump has been a republican since at least Reagan. He supported GHWB in 88 (see online videos at RNC convention). GHWB lost him in 92 and his Dem years under GWB are a personal dislike of where we were headed.

We had a "social consrvative" in GWB but he was a disaster in fiscal matters and immigration.

The phrase that is resonating with the Trump supporters is "Make America Great Again." Haven't noticed any other candidate saying that or offering any suggestions on how to do that.
