Such an effort may be more difficult than Trump realizes because deporting so many people means finding them first.

No need to go looking for them.

During traffic stops, arrests, and when they attempt to use benefits designed for for US citizens, hospitals, etc they can be arrested and deported. In fact you process and get rid of half the illegals within 5 years or so. Incrementally, 1 at a time, thousands per month get caught up and booted.

Such an effort may be more difficult than Trump realizes because deporting so many people means finding them first. The government does not know the identities of many of the millions of people who have come into the country illegally or remained after their legally issued visas expired. Locating immigrants who don't have a legal immigration status has stymied officials for decades.

These bimbos must be really young, and believe that history begins when their parents neglected to get an abortion.

None of those brilliant reasons why it can't work didn't stop Eisenhower and the American citizens of the time to do exactly what these ignoramuses are pulling out their hair about, and hysterically claiming it's simply not possible!

Si Podemos!
During the 1950s, however, this "Good Old Boy" system changed under Eisenhower - if only for about 10 years.

In 1954, Ike appointed retired Gen. Joseph "Jumpin' Joe" Swing, a former West Point classmate and veteran of the 101st Airborne, as the new INS commissioner.

Influential politicians, including Sen. Lyndon B. Johnson (D) of Texas and Sen. Pat McCarran (D) of Nevada, favored open borders, and were dead set against strong border enforcement, Brownell said. But General Swing's close connections to the president shielded him - and the Border Patrol - from meddling by powerful political and corporate interests.

One of Swing's first decisive acts was to transfer certain entrenched immigration officials out of the border area to other regions of the country where their political connections with people such as Senator Johnson would have no effect.

Then on June 17, 1954, what was called "Operation Wetback" began. Because political resistance was lower in California and Arizona, the roundup of aliens began there. Some 750 agents swept northward through agricultural areas with a goal of 1,000 apprehensions a day.
By the end of July, over 50,000 aliens were caught in the two states. Another 488,000, fearing arrest, had fled the country.

By mid-July, the crackdown extended northward into Utah, Nevada, and Idaho, and eastward to Texas.

By September, 80,000 had been taken into custody in Texas, and an estimated 500,000 to 700,000 illegals had left the Lone Star State voluntarily.

I guess Colvin and Caldwell don’t know about that force multiplier called bounties.

We do not need to find them it is easy to make them go home.

1. If you employee an illegal fine the hell out of the employer so the illegal have no jobs. The employer will be afraid to hire them.

2. Cut off any and all benefits to any person that can not prove they are an American Citizen.

3. They will go home on their own accord. For those that can not afford the trip back to their country or origin, pay for it.

4. For those that we do accidentally find due to crimes committed traffic stops etc. run a quick background check and if they have no serious crimes on record, deport them the same day. If they are wanted for a serious crime, turn them over for prosecution.

5. Illegal reentry into our nation is to be considered a serious crime with an automatic sentence of two years at hard labor.

6. Institute a program for “temporary guest workers” to work here if they are needed. After ten years if they have not gotten in trouble, worked, learned English they would then be allowed to apply for citizenship. At this point they we be allowed to bring their families under the normal immigration procedures for family members.

All non citizens would not be eligible for any welfare social benefits.

It is not that hard to do. Just implement E-Verify along with a 10K fine to employers/illegal they pay. Get caught 5 times and you go to jail.

Then take away the freebies the feds provide and bang, they all head home, pronto. It is really not rocket science.

Trump has NOT backed off from deporting ALL illegals.
After they go BACK to their country of origin, Trump is willing to bring those back legally if they prove to be doing jobs which are hard to fill by Americans...such as fruit pickers, fast food workers etc.

I am NOT, NOT saying he has backed off. Everybody keeps saying it is impossible to round up and send off 11 million illegals. I am just saying they will deport themselves if it is done correctly. Just read what I said.

I have a ONE step solution to self-deport ALL illegals (including those who flew in via airports). It will cost nothing to tax payers. It will not need armies of cops to search and arrest illegals. It will not need gargantual holding cells for 11-30 million illegals.

Step 1...pass a law which requires 1 year MANDATED PRISON term for each illegals found working in any outfit, for the CEO. No fines, because corporations will pay fines. But no CEO will like being in prison even for 1 day and night, with rapists, murderers, armed robbers, child molesters, and dope dealers.

No further steps necessary. The only problem will be shortage of seats on flights to Mexico City.

They could end the drought overnight.”

Great thought. But who would take care of the pools and the lawns, clean the houses, fix the food, take care of the kids, etc.? You know all those jobs that Americans don’t want to do! Unfortunately I remember when everyone mowed and raked their own yard, cleaned their own homes and cooked three meals a day.

Often thought that we should just put the military up shoulder to shoulder all along the the eastern and northern borders of California, then go house to house, load all the illegals up and ship them all south back across the border.

I don’t know where you live but I live on the front lines of this illegal mess and the overwhelming majority of them do not work for major corps like you are talking about. They work for small to medium companies and corps. that are family owned or by a small group of investors. Companies that cannot afford 10k per illegal employee and will rid themselves of them in a heat beat rather than get hit with the fines as well as getting on the federal radar.

No, the Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and CEO’s of GM and Ford are not going to hire these folks and risk the political consequences.

Regardless, self deportation can be attained without an army of agents on the streets looking for wetbacks.

If I was the president, I would find a way, by hook or crook to deport every illegal immigrant, and fine the heck out of the employers.

But I am not the president, so I will accept the next best solution.

Like I have posted 100 times, show me ANY candidate who will deport ALL illegals and I will immediately send them half of my social security check.

If All illegals are gone, I am OK with Trump admitting a few selective people back.

I heard today that illegal immigrants are breaking civil law, but not criminal law. That needs to change.

The logistics will be tough and possibly intrusive to some citizens, it will take time and determination. Much better use of the “Tell someone” programs - have an “Illegal lives over there” hotline.....it could replace the “mommy has a gun” hotline ...
