I would much rather see Cruz not repeat Reagan’s mistake as both members of the Bush family set the GOP back. If an establishment candidate has to be picked I personally would much rather have Walker than Rubio. Jmo.
Who could Reagan have chosen in 1980 as his running mate? Or in 1984 if he was willing to make a switch? Just curious as to your opinion.
It’s time for Ted Cruz to have a live TV feed or paid political commercial ad of the state of the Union address spelling out what is going on in Congress.
The field of potential VP candidates is much larger than those running for President. I believe it should be someone with the same philosophy as the Presidential candidate as the number one criteria.
Marco Rubio is a non-starter, he has shown his true colors as a Rino.
A better pick would be Sarah Palin as VP.
Totally agree.
I’m aware of that. I’m a huge fan. I think he’s by far the best man running. If he fails to become President, it will be a worse tragedy for the country than the defeat of Robert Bork.
Sen. Paul Laxalt
I’m not so sure it was a mistake - yes, it gave us one term of GHWB and two of GWB. However, Reagan had to make sure he’d win - and while it was an electoral landslide, he only got just over 50% of the vote. Both Carter and 3rd party GOPe Anderson may have fared better if he had not. Reagan may have won regardless, but definitely by a lower margin - so I think he was smart to play it safe.
I agree that I’d also prefer Walker over Rubio, and also wouldn’t mind Walker in the top spot. But since it’s unlikely that VP’s will actually wield any power, then I think choosing one to simply help you win makes sense.
Yes, I know. So what?
He would have been a good choice, I agree.
So
He is half Latino
And?
And nothing
He is half Cuban and the other half mainly Irish with some Italian
I am sure he is happy and proud of his entire heritage
She always sounded okay in a TV studio. It was when speaking to crowds that she easily slipped into screeching. Almost all politicians yell when speaking to a crowd. It was one of great contrasts between Carter and Reagan in 1980. Carter bellowed, always. It made Reagan sound much less like the kind of guy Carter said he was, i.e., a guy who wanted to BLOW UP THE WORLD!!!
