“Many people are assuming Republican voters are stupid”
The system of choosing Presidents has been captured by a cabal composed of advertisers, consultants, lobbyists, and infotainers.
The FOUNDATION of their power is the belief that voters do not make up their minds and choose well, but rather that voters exist as blocs to be moved around a chessboard by Grandmaster Rove and Grandmaster Axelrod.
I prefer to think that there are not “Republican voters” or “Democratic voters”, at least among white people, and that an appeal to nationalism, economic self-interest, disregulation and military strength can get up to 70-75% of the white vote.
If there is a man who could get 70% of the white vote (and I believe there is), what “Latinos” and blacks do becomes of no importance.
And I think you will find that the institutional Republicans will be the last to get it.
Ann’s good on some things, but in her latest book she’s still pushing Romney as the solution to illegal immigration.
And she’s just as off target with this notion.
???
What good does it do to “support someone who at least talks conservative?”
What is talk worth?
That’s a whole lot of hoping there. It reminds me of how many of us clung to the hope in the final days the “Bradley Effect” would save us from Obama in 2008.
Yeah, I’m tryin’ to un-see that, too.
Hard numbers don’t translate to hope. There will be no Perot repeat. The numbers and climate are completely different today than in 1992.
My point is those that are screaming the sky is falling if Trump goes 3rd party because Perot, they are wrong. Those 42% Independents are enough in themselves in a 3-way.
Another harsh reality is that despite the numerical superiority for a Trump/Cruz ticket, the RNC makes the rules for GOP primaries and they will do what they have to to diss Trump/Cruz. So there may be no other alternative other than a 3rd party unless they buy the argument that Hillary wins in a Perot redux. But Trump/Cruz have smart bean counters to know they have the votes via Independents, Reagan dems, Hispanic Americans and base grassroots GOP. Trump has the managers to get the ground game in shape. No way this would go the way of Perot.
Trump can win it either way.
Though I think I would prefer he win it as an independent so as to put another nail in the coffin of the GOP.
Damn, I hate those guys.

You’re implying all those indies are there for the picking. At least half of them are hardcore lib.
A repeat of 1992 (Perot’s 19%) would be wildly optimistic.
ALINSKY #13. Why use my name?”
You still haven’t answered your need to do that, when I don’t use yours.

“The only real exceptions are Tom Cotton and Ted Cruz “
and Jeff Sessions and Mike Lee.
“What good does it do to support someone who at least talks conservative?...What is talk worth?”
A REASONABLE question - which seems to be rare tonight. Other than Cruz (a proven conservative), what we conservatives have is a choice - either support someone that talks conservative, or support a PROVEN LIBERAL.
So, given that, I’ll take someone that has not yet DOUBLE-CROSSED me.
That is because there was no need. I believe you were once on my anti-Perry ping list. I thought I knew you. You were better at debate then. Now instead of addressing what others say n the issue at hand, you deflect attention toward other posters. That's mighty weak, Bob. Mighty weak.
> “Youre implying all those indies are there for the picking. At least half of them are hardcore lib.”
I do my homework. Indies surged from 24% in 2008 to 42% in 2014. In 2008, half were blue collar Perot demographic conservative. Since then the added 18% are nearly all conservative. Many comps point to at least 2/3’s of current Indies as conservative with more that lean conservative.
Never trust politicususa, never. They are paid for frauds.
At least she's consistent with her ideals, that she fails to place
in her books for some odd reason. Oh wait, yea it's Conservative
Money she wants. /Fraud
When you sober up a bit, please tell me what your point is.
I'm not much into the circular argument so I'm done laughing at you. Have a good night, Bob.
btw..I don't drink.
I’ll ask again, when you sober up a bit, please tell me what your point is.
So far your BIG PROBLEM is that I will not support Jeb, or one of his clones (as in Rubio or Walker)...perhaps you let us know why you’re upset with that...and without Alinsky #13.
Anne c. For Trumps Press Sec. Ted Cruz for VP, John Bolton for Sec of State, Sarah Palin for Sec. of Interior, Gen. Petraus for Sec. of Defence, Mitt Romney for Sec. of treasury. IF Donalds does run 3rd Party—his new party will not be third for long—but be second replacing the GOP.
