You really should read “War is a Racket” by Marine Corps General Smedley Butler before speaking again. Gen Butler legitimately won a chest full of medals including winning the Congressional Medal of Honor TWICE...
War is the product of big business and international financiers. Hitler would have gone no where without I.G. Farben and the like supporting him... Businessmen financed and promoted the ‘3rd Reich’.
I served in Vietnam, I am a disabled veteran (not bitter, love my country) and I don’t hold it agains Trump that he was smart enough to not get involved. Once the military industrial complex had made enough money and the public turned against the war we forgot about the blood, lives, and limbs of tens of thousands of American boys and got out until the next money making crisis presented itself... Not cynical, just a history major...
Thanks you for your service.
I know a bit about the military myself, having served in the AF for 28 years, and have had my own doubts about some of the conflicts into which this country has found itself.
I don’t fault Trump’s or anyone else’s decision not to join the military. Where I take issue is his casting aspersions upon the service of those who did. Anyone who endured six years as a POW deserves at least a measure of deference, especially from those who never put on a uniform.
