I don’t disagree with what you say, at all.
“They say that as a businessman he had to grease the palms of certain politicians to get things done. So which is it?”
How can anyone deny he has given to politicians? I think he was probably greasing the palms of certain politicians. A legal, out-in-the-open gift is not bribery. A gift is an acknowledgement. You give respect to a judge when you appear in court. MOST people go out of their way to greet their boss in the morning. That is their gift of acknowledgment of the scheme of things. Trump knows how to play the game. Who came out on top?
A gift is a form of flattery. Is there anywhere in the world a man who is so self-righteous that he will not give gifts to a woman he is pursuing? That is the way of the world:
Proverbs 18:16 - “A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.”
Proverbs 21:14 - “A gift in secret pacifies anger, and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.”
Proverbs 17:6 - “A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that has it; whithersoever it turns, it prospers.
And there are more.
“ALWAYS look at what they have done.”
I also agree. That is why I was outraged at Cruz for voting to give Obama more power, and to aid Obama in his effort to by-pass the Constitution with the trade bill, and Cruz has been positioning himself as a champion of the Constitution and has criticized Obama for his power grabs.
As for taking a politician at his word: Of the candidates for president I have voted for, I have so far only trusted Reagan. I think my perceptions were accurate. I’ve seen Trump on TV for many, many years, and although most of the talk was not about political policy, he always came across as someone with a good stock of common sense.
The man wants to be our next president so we must consider his political policies and apply what you say is his "common sense".
A man who you say has "common sense" wants to ban "assault weapons" even though there is no such thing.
A man who you say has "common sense" wants to extend the waiting periods to purchase a gun even though doing so does not prevent gun crime.
A man who you say has "common sense" has praised as "Brilliant" gun-grabbing leftist Michael Bloomberg for "Putting His Money Where His Mouth Is" on guns.
You classify as "common sense" a man who has said, "the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans".
The list goes on.
Trump may show what you deem "common sense" in the business world, and that may very well be true. But in the world of politics, he is veritable idiot.
