Twenty years ago, I would have agreed with you. In this case, there are too many four-star characters in the mix and I don’t see how they can avoid it.
Take for example the Iowa primary. Bush isn’t preferred by most Republicans in the state. Walker and Cruz presently appear to be heading up the state winners. Rand Paul will get some third-place win.
Rubio has the potential to take five or six state primaries (particularly California).
At best, Bush might come along to win ten state primaries and maybe place second in another ten.
Because of keen competition between Walker and Cruz....they will split up the voting to a great extent. I think by the convention....no clear cut winner will be apparent. In the big picture of things...someone will give up their votes to gain a position on the cabinet or be the VP.
If it’s the only way to ensure Jeb gets the nomination, the Powers will go for it.
