Don't want him for president, but it is also a bit naive to insinuate that his tax plan is bad because it's fair.

Fair to who? Do you expect those millions of people who will watch their tax bills go up to consider it fair?

That's the funny thing about being "fair". There's always someone who can't see it because they have tunnel vision that only takes in their own situation. Most don't think it's fair that they only get "X dollars" back even though they pay no taxes and are getting a gift.

In order to be "fair" I suppose some think that the progressive tax is the bomb - they're familiar and comfortable with it. After a while, the yokes become natural even though we see others living yoke-less at out expense.

Perhaps a very small portion could just stop getting rebates instead of having to pay their "unfair" burden.

The best way to move from liberalism/communism is to engage all the population with the task of sharing the burden - once someone realizes it is their own resources going to pay expenses, they stop being so generous with the concept of "free stuff". No matter how unfair some may think it, it would be a huge step in moving us in the right direction.
