Even factoring in the usual MSM exaggerations, it does seem like Walker is starting to follow a GOP-e gameplan. Walker’s strength was said to be that he was unflappable and unwavering. He seems to be distancing himself from the thing that got him noticed by conservatives to begin with.
I’ll wait and see where he actually settles, but I’m not all that keen on some of the moves he’s making these days.
At least one of these so-called shifts started with a mis-quote by the Wausau newspaper (try posting a story from the Wausau paper and you’ll see what they think of FR). It is a very liberal outfit and will not retract.
This just isn’t a big issue, no matter if it’s Walker, Cruz, Paul or whomever. We all change our views on things as we gain perspective and I have more respect for those politicians who are willing to adapt than those who steadfastly cling to a weak or incorrect position out of some notion that it makes them look smart or strong or something.
