Cruz, yes. Rubio, no.

Cruz/Rubio would be good...Marco goofed on what he was trying to say. He was on WFLA's AM Tampa Bay a few weeks ago and he said that he didn't say it correctly and the news media musquote him.

Rubio is still a conservative. I'm not throwing him off the island.

Heck - what if folks stop doing the inane “what if” scenarios that don’t do a bit of good but do provide some phantom meat for others to chew on while looking for faults with Cruz?

There was a article about Marco Rubio today in Yahoo News in a interview he said that government can help people, he was talking among things like Pell Grants for students, regulate the airlines.

Marco Rubio is another Washington insider GOP establishment cronnie.
In the interview it sounded like he had a little distain for those new comers to Congress who were elected in the last election of those who are anti-govermemt intervention.
Marco Rubio is another RINO pretending to be a tea party conservative.

Well, since vaginas and skin color mean more than merit in today's bread'n'circus coronations, why not Cruz/Love. You get a Hispanic and a nice looking black chick. She may not have a lot of experience, but she does have a keen brain so she's light years ahead of the current Veep.

You'd probably want somebody from a different demographic in there to pick up some votes the GOP would otherwise lose. Somebody from the Middle West might help out more.

Besides, do Ted and Marco even get along?

If Cruz wins the nomination, he needs a governor as his running mate, not another Senator. I think Bobby Jindal would be a good choice.

Walker screwed the pooch with his Liz Mair fiasco. Martinez is Nikki Haley would be an interesting choice.

Wow, looking at the responses some people are ready to through Marco overboard.

Let’s look at this rationally for just a moment:

(1) Yes, Marco hurt himself immensely with the immigration debate and cuddling up to McCain/Grahamnesty. But that being said, as a VP in a potential Cruz administration, CIR as that Gang of 8 wanted to pass isn’t seeing the life of day and the whole issue will get shelved. The bigger focus will be on the areas of border security, fiscal policy, and ensuring lunatic Islamo-fascist regimes don’t get nukes, all areas I believe Cruz and Rubio do agree on.

(2) Ted Cruz is smart. He does things and is one step ahead of others. The conventional wisdom is to “balance” the ticket. Even Reagan did that in 1976 and 1980. I’m sure Reagan assumed the next “cream” would rise to the top, but sadly all there was was GHWB. And then more Bushes and RINOs. Picking another conservative would avoid that mistake.

(3) Cruz/Rubio would be like the GOP Equivalent of Clinton/Gore without the ethics/scandals/stupidity. Both are young, charismatic, and would represent a strong change from the current administration (this time in a good way).

(4) Yes, they are both Cuban, but it’s not just that background. Everyone knows Cruz is one of the most brilliant, articulate, smart men in the Senate, and Rubio’s pretty decent too when he’s on the issues we agree with. Their background complements the “Presentation” of the ideals in the General Election, but being Hispanic/Latino isn’t the centerpiece. It all comes together though.

(5) Cruz/Rubio would be an Electoral College nightmare for the Democrats. If Cruz runs the campaign we all believe he is capable of and presenting those ideas and Rubio supporting the ticket, they could win an Electoral College landslide. Every single battleground state would be in play and some “safe” blue states would see their victory % fall. I’d even give that ticket a chance to finally carry PA.

So to answer your question. Yes. Cruz/Rubio would be an incredible ticket. The conservative message and personal background in conjunction with the battleground states in play looks like a very winnable situation.
