I voted against Cornyn. Have had exchanges with his office.
I was a delegate at the convention and watched Rick be booed by the delegates when he endorsed Dewhurst. Made me sad, but he knew how the delegates felt about Dewhurst. Dewhurst lost the race by his own actions. Nothing Rick could do would have changed that at all.
Loyalty to a fellow rino. He’s done.
My State is wacko. Way left of an average of Cornyn and Cruz. Cornyn is still lacking in being a Constitutionalist....
I am neither attracted by neither Perry no matter their antics.
Rick has been good now and then. In totality he is still lacking as a suitable POTUS.
“And this talk about loyalty. Never vote for a person who puts personal loyalty above this country/state. Thats the Good Ol Boy network on full display, and the exact reason the GOP is hopeless.”
Excellent point. We can’t afford nepotism of any kind, especially during these times when the country is in such dire straits.
“Texas Freepers, what do you say?”
I am a Texas Freeper: Of course, we don’t know if Perry voted for Cruz or not in the general election. Maybe he didn’t punch the button for that office, just left it blank. We will never know.
Perry has a thin skin and will punish anyone who has and carries out an independent thought without his exact approval. My friend was on a state committee, Perry assigned her that post. The head state officer of that department, left, so a new head would be appointed by my friend and the other person that made up that committee.
The best candidate was the number two person of that department. She had worked there for years and knew everything about that job and did excellent work. My friend and the fellow along with her, chose this woman and gave her the job.
Well, Perry called her to his office and chewed her out for making that decision which was her and the other person’s job to do. He wanted some man who had no experience in that, but the guy was his “friend”. Perry said he thought she was on his side and now she had done this. Idiot Perry had not told my friend and the fellow who he wanted to have that job, but it was their job to make that decision, not his.
My friend had been appointed to several state committees and she was diligent on every one of them, but now Perry was mad at her for doing her duty. She was loyal in that she carried out her duties to the max, but none of that meant anything to him now.
So, when he goes on and on about loyalty in this article, I know what he is really like and say “nuts” to him. I worked for him the first time he ran for governor, attended a workshop he gave to some of us in Austin, and sat by his mother that whole day. She was a lovely, kind, woman.
After that, I was in Perry’s presence a number of times and realized he can’t talk on his feet well at all. The correct words don’t come to him so some of his sentences make no sense. We can’t have a president who can’t find the right words. When you hear him, listen for complete sentences - you will find many of his sentences are jumbled, incomplete sentences and some of the words don’t fit the subject of the sentence.
La Raza Rickie is fooling no one.
This is a sad story that depicts a man in a fit of bad unreason, assuming no other salient details (like a known custom of asking the Boss about such matters that was bypassed here).
That said, inarticulate presidents are why the Teleprompter was invented :-)
Thank you for playing, Rick.
Next!
At least with Cruz, you don’t have to worry about a fatal brain freeze during a critical debate.
The definition of Good Old Boys.
And this talk about loyalty. Never vote for a person who puts personal loyalty above this country/state.
So true. e.g. I must vote for Obama because “ he’s black”
No you should vote your conscience, not your color. Besides he’s half black.
Wouldn’t you like someone who’s 100% not one who plays to the voting block, and the guilt side of his whiteness.
At least with Cruz, you dont have to worry about a fatal brain freeze during a critical debate.
Can’t wait to see him take on the moderators, and Jeb in particular....
...and then Hillary!
I just see a difference between loyalty and a pledge of support given early in a race from stubbornly sticking with a good ol’ boy when there was a free choice. A man’s word has to mean something.
That’s just my opinion.
Oldplayer
How about loyalty to your state and country Ricky Bobby?
Wasnt loyalty the motive for bush suggesting some 2 bit lawyer friend to besupreme court justice?
There were many people like Goebbles and Goering surrounding Hitler who were “Loyal”, Rick.
Does that make them “Right”?
