I remember the “Au H2O” bumper stickers - even then it had to be explained to the liberals....
In 1964 I recall Young Americans for Freedom selling AuH2O buttons & a soft drink called “Gold Water: the right drink for the conservative taste”.
Old joke: “The Democrats told me that if I voted for Goldwater there would be race riots & the war in Vietnam would escalate. I voted for him & sure enough that’s exactly what happened!”
