We are not ready yet for such a march.

I have no aversion to defending our liberties by every means available to us as a people. I am all for resisting lawlessness, and I assert this federal beast now ruling us has no legitimate authority over a free and religious people.

My concern is that - as a people- we are not in a condition to wield a righteous cause that Our Father in Heaven will honor with victory…. yet. Good sir, we are ripe for a French Revolution bloodbath - not a restoration of our foundational principles and heritage, and that does concern me.

The church and education have been derelict in their duties to safeguard our culture. A biblically moral and religious people are the only kind of people that a Constitution such as ours is intended for.

Obama may be a judgement on our nation for our collective sins as a people, and if so, where is our national repentance? What are we willing to risk and endure for the liberties intended for us that we have squandered away by inaction and indifference for decades?

Have we counted the cost? This must be done before we can follow a prescription such as you suggest.

Certainly a majority have found liberty as intended for us worth only the price of beer and entertainment and/or subsidized healthcare and welfare payouts. The concept of pledging life, fortunes and sacred honor for a holy cause is a rarity these days.

The domestic enemy lording over us is miles ahead in preparation and in expecting resistance to their fundamental transformation. We will need strong spiritual and moral resolve to do what is necessary and to endure what must be endured if a hope of restoration of what was intended for us is possible.

It will not come by voting for a man into high office. Our faith and hope has to be in God first, not men or their institutions. While I like Cruz and support his candidacy at this moment - I do not see him as any kind of salvation for where this nation finds itself.

We have to be transformed BACK into the kind of virtuous people Franklin himself said were capable of freedom. Lots of work to do on that score on multiple fronts - not just for an upcoming election cycle.

That does nothing to bolster the argument that Mr. Cruz is eligible; I don't think he is, just like I don't think Obama is, and for the same reasons.
Does this mean I dislike Cruz? Far from it; I think he's an excellent statesman, but the point remains that a Constitution whose restrictions were only operative when convenient would be useless.

Or would you say that the Bush bailouts were a good thing because our guys did them? That the Patriot Act was a good thing because our guys passed it? Or the War on Drugs, which has diminished 9 of the 10 amendments of the Bill of Rights, as a good thing because drugs are bad? Would you argue that the ACA ruling was correct because Roberta was appointed under Bush?

Cruz is eligible, and the most qualified of any in the running. Thanks.

I’d be ok if he was running as VP, but the firebrand Cruz needs to go with POTUS.

Although, I still think it’s going to take more than this to fix things.

No one gives a rat’s ass about your silly argument but you and a handful of others like you. Barracks lawyers can go argue law to a wall.

The national debt is gone.
Hm, look at that, asserting it didn't make it so — you present nothing that would make me change my mind on the eligibility issue.
I think he's got the best character of those running, but that means jack to the Constitutional qualifications.

Obviously; and that's because nobody gives a rat's ass about the Constitution anymore.
Look at how willing people are to disregard [or twist] it to their benefit: the War on Drugs is an excellent example, Prohibition had the 18th Amendment but the WoD has nothing (except 'precedent' and a tortured rendering of the commerce clause that essentially gives the federal government unlimited power).

Cruz is a natural born citizen. Hope you’re not going to be a problem child about it.

Cruz is a natural born citizen.

Ok, prove it: how is he a natural born citizen?
In short, tell me why the following chart is wrong:   Citizenship Terms Used in the U.S. Constitution - The 5 Terms Defined & Some Legal Reference to Same

Hope you’re not going to be a problem child about it.

That depends on how you're going to define problem child — if it means not surrendering my opinion to the greater good or the collective opinion (which is really what the progressives use) then I'll be one. If it means attacking people and putting them down for their opinion then I certainly don't want to be a problem child.

IOW, I'm not going to put someone down for saying they're going to vote for Cruz, but likewise I'm not willing to violate my conscience by voting for what I believe to be a violation of the Constitution.

He was born to an American citizen living temporarily in Canada. He’s an American citizen by birth, ie, a natural born citizen.

Ah, but does citizenship by circumstances of birth equate to natural born citizen?
If it does, the Congress cannot pass laws naturalizing by the condition of birth... but such laws exist:

8 U.S. Code Part I - Nationality at Birth and Collective Naturalization has a section called Nationals and citizens of United States at birth, such law [the US Code] is passed by Congress, and therefore must be subject to the powers delegated by Art 1, Sec 8 [and amendments] — the only such power [regarding citizenship] so delegated is that of naturalization, so this section must be covering naturalization, and so we see that naturalization can cover circumstances of birth.

Might I assert that allowing these to define natural born citizen is folly, for if we allow that then we must allow the ability for them to define arms and infringed and press and speech and then the Constitution becomes meaningless because it may be altered at will by normal legislative actions.

You can assert anything you wish but it doesn’t make it so.

Cruz is a natural born U.S. citizen. Period.

You can assert anything you wish but it doesn’t make it so.

That was exactly my point a few posts upthread.

Cruz is a natural born U.S. citizen. Period.

And that's an assertion; by your own statement: You can assert anything you wish but it doesn’t make it so.
You aren't providing any evidence to back it up, or any evidence that I'm misinformed, you're just saying that he is a natural born citizen.

If you knew anything you’d know to go check federal law that clarifies this issue. Instead, you stupidly argue that the constitution isn’t being followed. Who freeping cares what you think when you argue against the law? You don’t know the law, the constitution, or much else. You nerds that claim these things are pissing into the wind. It isn’t going to change that Cruz is qualified by constitutional parameters to be president.

“Obviously; and that’s because nobody gives a rat’s ass about the Constitution anymore.”

You’re like one of those “Born Agains” that claim no one else is a Christian because they don’t follow the Bible the way you think it must be followed.

You try to redefine the word “natural” to mean some convoluted definition no one else has ever followed.

To you idiots, if a women crossed into Mexico to buy a vase one afternoon and goes into labor, her child, even though she carried that child 8 month and 30 days into labor on US soil, is somehow not a US citizen and a law must be passed to create citizenship for the child.

Think about that, moron.

No, it’s a fact. He was and is a natural born American citizen at birth. It’s as simple as that. You can take all the lawyers, judges, courts, arguments and conspiracy theorists you like, but you can’t change the simple fact.
