I can imagine his election ads had lots of American flags and pictures of his family though. Maybe even a church too!

Also, Thornberry was selected as House Armed Services Committee Chairman, one of the most powerful positions in the House and I would imagine a big deal for defense companies here in northern west Texas. It would be very difficult for anybody to defeat him now while he’s playing nice with the GOP establishment (or becoming part of it, we’ll see).
