There has been a change. A few years ago the illegals issue was not wanted at some local tea parties. Rick Santelli never mentioned Obamacare. But now both issues are so pressing that the tea party has become incensed. (Also, I don’t remember a heavy pro-life presence either. I think the idea was to keep the libertarians who were not pro-life.)
The party doesn’t have to remain the same from year to year. The other parties don’t.
Completely UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Like, TURNING THE US into a Obama DICTATORSHIP!
Laws originate in the US House, then go through the US Senate and then to the President who either signs or veto's them.
We do not have a KING who Dictates our laws!
Can NEWSMAX get a grip here??
Gotta pick your battles and focus on the biggest threat. As Frederick the Great said, he who defends everything defends nothing.
Exactly! It is an assault on the rule of law, upon the very core and foundation of our Republic , the separation of powers.
I am against BIG Federal Government overreach where ever it currently exists: environmentally, lax control of voter eligibility, spying on taxpayers, destroying our monetary system, overtaxing, over regulation of our daily lives, destroying local control of education. Illegal Immigration is just one of many insults to the American ideal, you just have to open your eyes to see what is going on.
May God Damn the usurper who was elected by fools and ignorant voters.
If the Republican Party can seriously take on the Amnesty issue and use its power in the Congress to kill it, then the Republican Party may be making the attempt to detach itself from the Democrat Party. If it refuses to attack Amnesty seriously rather than just making pronouncements then it is confirming its subservience to the Democrat Party and uselessness to the Nation.
“Peters points out that it was this type of organizing and vigor that helped the tea party defeat former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.”
Oh, SO NOW they’re saying that Amnesty was a major factor in Cantor getting clocked. Until now the excuse was that Cantor was too lazy to fight for Grandma’s Social Security check.
“...that the ultra conservatives are focusing their attention and resources on this single issue (Amnesty).”
Yes we are!!! If you REPOPULATE the country with Third World types, what the hell is the purpose of trying to “balance the budget” when you’re just going to get swamped in future elections?
I’d say, on a list of priorities, that preventing repopulation (or really just trying to keep it moving a bit slower), is about as high as a priority can get.
“The Post last week reported that the two party leaders will be forced to walk a tightrope to tamp down the “intraparty warfare that has largely defined the GOP during the Obama years and that has hurt the partys brand among the broader electorate.”
Yea, it HURT US REAL BAD, you know that fighting that knocked out Cantor. We only now control the House with the largest margin in nearly 100 years, and just took over the Senate. I’m sure the Democrats now wish they could “hurt their party’s brand” just as bad.
That’s why the media refer to TEA as “the tea party wing of the republican party”- so moderate Rats won’t look into joining.
Amnesty allowed will be the death of the Republican Party.. The Elitist RINOs have no sense. First - the BIG LIE... it is not 5 million or 6-7-8-9 Million Illegal Aliens — it is 20 MILLION illegal aliens. The the idiot Repug ‘Leadership’ who have no recognition of the Case Precedence of a Federal Court Ruling called ‘Chain Migration’ which allows any new citizen to near immediately sponsor EVERY BLOOD RELATIVE for American Citizenship. Simple math... 20 million given Amnesty and NO it will never stop at 5 million and it will never stop until there is Full Amnesty. 20 Million start, in 10 years 25 million, in 15 years 30 million, then in 20 years 40-45 million. The CHAIN never stops. And it cannot be changed by New Statue.
IGNORANT is the only suitable word to describe the GOP top dogs...
McConnell and Boehner also must try to “contain” Republicans who have offended Hispanics with insensitive comments, such as when Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, a tea party favorite. Bachmann said that the “social cost” of Obamas immigration policies would be extensive, with “millions of unskilled, illiterate, foreign nationals coming into the United States who cant speak the English language.”
...and EXACTLY what is the problem with that, other than it SPLITS THE DEMOCRAT PARTY IN HALF, by telling their base to MOVE ASIDE so that we can give jobs to our newly imported people. I wonder if that’s it?
“South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, one of the four Republicans who make up the gang of eight, called Bachmanns remarks “unfortunate, unfair, unnecessary, unwise.””
...but not UNACCURATE (as he would say).
People watch what’s happening at the moment, and right before Cantor’s primary the surge of children was all over the news. I think that’s what did it, at least partly. No one knew when it was even going to slow down.
Any conservative, to them, is “ultra” from the first degree to infinity.
