I would back any GOP candidate over Reid if he/she voted against Obamacare.

If you think a GOP controlled House and Senate will vote to repeal Obamacare then I truly believe you will be very disappointed. They will, at best, nibble around the edges and in the process likely make it worse than it was before.

Nonsense. Alexander would never be the sole vote against Keystone.

Did you read the article? You do drink The Magical Rove Kool Aid dontcha? LOL

Who said they would? This would only be signed by a GOP President.

nibble around the edges

They will pass popular reforms. Better....MUCH better than Reid!

Reforms that were not possible over the last decades are now possible and the entire GOP knows it.

Horse Hillary! Faux News GOP-E Spin Network the one most GOP watch will bring out the GOP-E propagandist ala McCain and Rove as the Party Voice to explain it all away and even some Freepers will be in here telling us why we still need to vote for the GOP-E. Oh that's right that's happening right now. Such things as Keystone will not pass because????? Follow the Donor money. Who's railroad business stands too loose if Keystone passes? Donors who control both parties right now actually.

It's really a sad day in the GOP when Pat Cadell sounds more Conservative than many in the GOP especially Rove.

Why would they here in TN? They get what they want - squishy middle of the road RINO’s like Frist, Alexander, Corker, Sundquist The Tax Terrorist, Haslam, etc.

Even Fred Thompson got squishy in the end. My representative Marsha Blackburn is a non-entity. My previous state rep, Charles Sargeant (I’ve lived in the same place for 15 years and have been put in three different districts) was a wussy.

Fred Thompson is one I did support until near the end of the senate hearings. I think you know why but most Freepers have no idea. Fred Thompson represented former Tennessee governor Ray Blanton's Corrections commissioner. Blanton was selling Pardons aka Cash for Clemency and the case Fred won started the end for Blanton. Thompson was a talented lawyer and he took a dive in the senate hearings. When Fred said "Let the chips fall where they may" I had hope. When Fred said "Don't name any names" I knew he went establishment RINO.

The final straw was the phoney POTUS campaign which in effect ended Conservative opposition for Thompson's buddy John McCain.

Right now the TN GOP Congress has one tried and true Conservative who has stood the test of time in stick with it votes. He's not perfect but I sure wish Jimmy Duncan had ran against Alexander or Corker.

No offense, but you've lost your mind if you think a Republican-controlled Senate would ever stand in the way of an Obama nominee.

A total of THREE Republicans voted against Ruth Bader Ginsberg's nomination when Clinton appointed her to the U.S. Supreme Court. Case closed.

Thanks. I've said the same thing many times and so many fellow conservatives and Tennesseeans just can't believe it. They were so in the tank for Fred. I kept telling them he was working to help McCain thwart Hucksterbee, especially in SC.

I wished Duncan had run also. I knew Lamar! wouldn't get over 50% in the primary.

Hi there. Just to let you know when I’m quoting a line from an article or someone else, I boldface my reply so that I know whom is saying what. It has nothing to do with emotion at all. You’re confusing boldface fonts with CAPS. Now, if I wrote, MOST OF YOUR RESPONSE TO MINE IS A RED HERRING, that would be shouting.

I’m curious how you seem thoroughly unbothered by the chicanery of the MS Senate race and far more upset by my choice of fonts.

According to Wita, you MUST(!) vote Republican in the general regardless of how odious, disgusting and deceitful the nominee is.

You want to keep Georgia Communist ? Every time you use the post-2000 media newspeak colors, they derisively laugh behind your back.

Like I said, he needs to be slapped and slapped hard. That RINO propaganda/garbage like this is published in the National Review shows how much it has deteriorated.

How is that better ? Better open Democrats than covert ones doing a very bad impression of being Republican like Thad the Cad.

You know, Wita, the English language is a beautiful language and can be both direct and nuanced. Logic cannot, it just is. Can you not understand the difference between not giving your vote to someone who does not deserve it and withholding your vote to spite someone?

I was referring to Catron, the author of this garbage. I said I couldn’t believe the American Spectator has deteriorated to the point that this Rovian filth would be allowed on it.

Must I hit my hands daily with a hammer as to learn to tolerate pain also? LOL. In the end both voting for GOP-E and bashing your fingers with a hammer only results in a bloody painful mess. I'll support Good Republicans to the hilt.

I don't expect perfection thus ones like Duncan in my eyes are acceptable. Many don't even likely know who he is but he's a reliable Conservative just about every time even against the party. But I won't vote for ones like Lamar Alexander or Corker for even county dog catcher. They both are in office thanks to DEMs skewing the primaries. Simple solution is have closed primaries and a one primary election cycle lock out placed ones changing parties.

As for POTUS primaries? The only hope I see there primary wise is to have a true National Democrat and GOP Primary held on the same day. One primary national vote say in July. This way we all get an honest say in the matter.

That would only work if both had contested primaries, otherwise the Dems would engage in chicanery with our side as per usual. But we need to REGISTER voters by party and enact runoffs for less than 50%. No more plurality victories by people reflecting only a minority of the base voter preference.

Register to party and in "Primary" elections only then have a one primary cycle lock out on change of party voters. IOW no changing parties in May to go vote in the other parties primaries and change back in time for next primary. A one Primary Lock Out of the upcoming primary from time of change of party would stop the nonsense.
