Drew gasps? I watched the video.
Looked like most of them were having a good chuckle.
This is all kabuki theater.

A Virginia lawmaker who drew gasps from his colleagues when he brandished a borrowed AK-47 during an anti-gun speech Thursday was found guilty in 2002 of committing a vicious 1999 assault, The assault should be a felony conviction which makes his possession of a firearm another felony.

The article doesn't say whether Morrissey was ever convicted of a felony or even a misdemeanor, but a "vicious assault" and "death threat" certainly sound like felonious behavior.
Perhaps one reason Democrats are so hell-bent on gun control is that so many of them are forbidden by current laws to possess firearms, because they have demonstrated dangerous behavior in their past.

Another lib, nutjob, sociopath. We need background checks for politicians. If they can’t pass a background check to purchase a firearm, they have no business telling me what to do. Kind of like someone that doesn’t pay their taxes running the IRS.

The last time the Clintons drove the world MAD on this issue, someone would remind everyone:
1. That is NOT an AK-47.
2. That is NOT an automatic weapon.
3. That is NOT an assault weapon.
I fear we are standing on the sidelines on this point. I have a friend , retired Marine, who is afraid to join the NRA because he “will be on a list” with the government.
It is now or never.

Sounds like he committed a Federal felony gun violation. Isn’t there a zero tolerance policy on Fed gun violations? Don’t those crimes carry a mandatory minimum? I guess we’ll see how serious 0bama is about gun control.
