Heh. Have been researching my father-in-law’s injuries at Vire, France on August 8, 1944 during WWII. That revived my lost interest in WWII history over that of the Civil War and American West. Now am reading “Challenge for the Pacific: Guadalcanal: The Turning Point of the War” by “Robert Leckie”. What a great, first person, history. Yes, you do. The motto is not merely to be stated, but to be lived. You did your part when called and you went where you were sent. My father was an Army infantryman in WWII (Africa, Italy, France, Belgium & Germany), and twice wounded, so I've got a warm spot in my heart for my dogface brothers. I'll tip a glass of bourbon toward Illinois, with best wishes to you and yours...
