Heh. I'm about as square as they get from a 'modern' point of view. Yet, I use PowerPoint, I'm a family guy, I'm not rich (by a long shot...) but I'm an uncle. My next door neighbors don't like me much, but that's because I don't like their slovenly ways.

A lot of us who are working and parents trying to make a good life for ourselves and our families, and contributing to the community, can relate to the lives of Mitt and Ann. I do as well. I share some of those traits as well, although some of those stories I was thinking “wow, could anyone give a testimonial that good about me? I dunno.”
They’ve been wildly successful, but that doesnt make them different ... or indifferent. Their lives are what many of us aspire to have and to be.
And the convention was great at celebrating a lot stories of people who worked hard to succeed, rather than denigrating succeed. It also showed the very humble roots of so many of those in the GOP, like Rubio, Ryan, Gov Martinez, and others.
