easier to swallow huh? That bitter pill is the size of a helicopter landing pad.

Give hair-helmet 0.1 microSeconds, and let the rest be Ryan 24/7.

EVEN THEN on election day I might stay home.

Ryan voted for TARP and the auto bailouts.
I don’t see how this squares with the tea party, unless they have changed a lot recently.

To paraphrase Mary Poppins, “A spoonful Obama make the Romney go down.”.

The only thing that makes Romney viable is the alternative of Obama.

We are so screwed.

After holding our noses for almost 4 yrs of Obama....Romney looks like apple pie to me. With the addition of Ryan to the ticket, it’s now apple pie a la mode.

Well, MY quills are not standing straight out any more, or at least not as many of them. Frankly, I had been as nervous about Romney as a cat plunked down in a kennel full of dogs. Up to now, I was sure that Romney would be torn apart by the liberals because he mistakenly thought them to be somewhat sympathetic to his own philosophy, with just a few subtle differences.

They are not. They have the empathy of Tasmanian devils, or wolverines, or just maybe grizzly bears with a toothache.

Enter Paul Ryan, who is quite aware that the liberals, and most especially liberals of a party different from his own, are vicious, cunning creatures, gone entirely feral and unable to contain their reactions when confronted.

It is not as if Congressman Ryan is stepping into the big predators’ cage unprepared. He has tamed lions, tigers and bears before, and can marshall response to the most off-handed attacks, with what seems to be almost ease. His choir-boy looks conceal a sharp and powerful intellect, and he has the facts at hand to counter most arguments that may be hurled at him with logic and calm demeanor.

Ad Hominem attacks, on the other hand, probably deserve a much different response, and here is where a little Reaganesque charm comes in. I am not sure how much of this Paul Ryan possesses, but even harking back to some of Reagan’s better replies (”There you go again, Jimmy”) could be highly effective.

What’s with all this talk of staying home instead of voting against Obama? That’s nuts!

I like Ryan but I cannot and will not compromise my beliefs and principles to vote for Mitt. I’m not going to be a hypocrit.

If Mittens is elected and screws up bigtime he could be impeaches and we can have Ryan.

So we will have a conservative presiding over the Senate and going to state funerals. And I doubt those conservative credentials if he is willing to be on a ticket with Mittens. Big whoop. Look who will be in the white house.

I’m not even of the “Tea Party” self-ID’d group, but I find the idea that Ryan is somehow “fiscally conservative” to be a hideous trope.

Ryan’s budget plan never gets us to a balanced budget.

I was in Manassas, VA to hear Romney and Ryan speak. I have to confess that I’ve been only a lukewarm supporter of Romney until today. Between the Ryan pick and the great speech Romney gave I have been converted. As long as Romney does what he says he’s going to do he’ll be okay.

Are you Freepers really telling us the truth??? You Would Really Withhold Your Vote For Romney/Ryan and let Obama Win? You can take your pick, vote for a couple of “grown-ups” (Romney/Ryan), or Not Vote and acquiesce to another 4 years of the “Drama Queen”. I’ve been in the voting booth since ‘68, but if you’re going to just give up and walk away, G*d bless ya’...just don’t bitch about what transpires down the road.

All right then, so what’s the FR consensus, are we going to vote to save Ryan’s privates?

VP is a don’t care. His only value is as an attack dog during the campaign. Then he’s just a figurehead to be ignored. We’ll see if he has any value - over the next 3 months.

Although Democrats have lambasted the “Ryan plan” as an extreme measure that would gut Medicaid and Social Security for the elderly, some fiscal conservatives deem it too timid...

Ryan will cause the milk to sour within the cow and the hens to stop laying! Ryan will kill the crop in the field and make babys breech!

I like Paul Ryan but he’s not even enough to get me to vote for a Romney ticket. Paul Ryan is like a child’s balloon tied to a Mitt Romney anchor - not enough to keep the whole thing from sinking.
