Sarah Palin mocks Obama on drug use, dogs
The Politico ^ | June 16, 2012 | Tim Mak

LAS VEGAS – Sarah Palin ridiculed President Barack Obama at a conservative bloggers conference Friday for his “cocaine snorting” and eating dog as a child.

“That cocaine snorting, and what he ate — Fido? Rufus?” the former Alaska governor said, alluding to Obama’s memoir, “Dreams From My Father,” in which he admits both to cocaine use and being served dog by his stepfather in Indonesia. “I think it’s funny that the cocktail circuit gives me a hard time for eating elk and moose. Anybody here have a pet moose? There’s a difference.”

It was part of a 30-minute speech at the RightOnline conference, in which she criticized the “permanent political class” and the “lamestream media” while applauding conservative bloggers for doing “what too many people in the old media won’t do, can’t do, and that’s tell the truth.”

“The role of new media is more fundamental than just a force for organizing,” Palin told hundreds of bloggers in a conference room at conservative donor Sheldon Adelson’s Venetian hotel. “New media has become a force for activism and information. You do what too many people in the old media won’t do, can’t do, and that’s tell the truth.”

Palin also got a little cheeky, making a pun about polls and poles in Vegas.

“Here we are in Vegas — in Washington, too — they talk a lot about polls. There are a lot of poles in Vegas,” said Palin, referring to strip club poles before addressing the president’s poll numbers. “There is a reason that the figures in those polls are augmented too.” The pun inspired cheers and laughter from the crowd...

Palin is not entirely adverse to supporting wobbly Establishment types who play footsie with the Marxists, as in the Hatch choice against an insurgent conservative wannabe in Utah, now that his best pal Ted Kennedy, God rest his soul, is dead.

Sarah is likely eying ‘16, which I believe explains her mentoring relationship under Hatch the Insider. It is one of the first serious maneuvers I have seen of her that she finally has accepted doing some homework, and will need to put an act together more than rah rah speeches that thrill her portion of the conservative portion of the Republican portion of the Republican Party.

Thank you for the ping from upthread. Splendid post.

I can never add a thing to what you and Patton say. Remarkable and coherent, you guys always disarm the toothless and the cowards.

Myth is bought and paid for by the same people that own the Indonesian.

Myth will win, but don't get yer hopes up for him to restore our Nation.

We the people still have that power. If we give it to G_d!

Please question the following mantra:

...another four years of Obama is simply unacceptable if this Country has any chance of surviving as a Constitutional Republic.

I hope she goes on the trail for Romney. He would be very wise to use her ability to draw crowds and put forth the conservative spirit of Americanism.

And result in electing a powerful Republican with things already lined up to advance the cap-and-trade, ethanol, solar, "green" EPA dictatorship.

Way to go, Sarah.

That "Mix and match your president!" is priceless.

The cold truth is that if it's O v R, either way the next president will be an enemy of conservatism. I hope Palin goes third party and to hell with the "conventioanl wisdom," there's nothing to lose anyway. The worst case scenario would be the president going into office doing battle with the two-thirds that voted against him. If it's Palin who wins in that scenario, a lot of the folks who voted "against" here were just too afraid to support her.

Great speech by Governor Palin. The headline is misleading. Her main point was how biased and left wing agenda driven the media is. Of course they would not want to report on that, proving her point.

I watched her speech and got a better appreciation of what she was saying.

the Levin Rule, you Vote your Candidate in the Primary and you Vote your Party's Candidate in the General.

For me, Levin's got it wrong this time. I think he's gripped by a temporary hysteria.

To do otherwise hands your opponent unchecked power for the next four years which will result in a Progressive Repressive Regressive Supreme Court for generations to come.

We all know Romney's record and we all have seen his values in practice. If he wins, and worse if he wins in a landslide, it would certainly result in a Progressive Repressive Regressive Supreme Court Republican presidential administration with negative repurcussions for generations to come.

If [Obama} gets re-elected, NOTHING else will matter.

The sky is falling. Shriek shriek.

It is not about Romney, it is about getting rid of Obama.

WRONG. Okay, you win, and it's a year after we've gotten rid of Obama. Who is it going to be about then?

Who is going to have a lot more political pull than conservative Republicans?

IT IS ALL ABOUT ROMNEY.

Sarah Palin ridiculed President Barack Obama

Didn't I read that ridicule is a dread "Alinsky Tactic"?

Or are we all ready to admit that mockery existed before Alinsky?

Out of touch. If Romney is so evil, and apparently more evil than Obama in your view, then vote for Obama. Romney was not my favorite — Romney was not my choice of candidate but America has made its choice, it appears.

It is terrifying to think that there are still people that think leaving Obama in the White House is better for America than voting in Romney for one term...followed by a conservative. There are ways to fix America but it does not include Obama. We have all the evidence we need to substantiate that fact.

And deflecting to that pose is "in touch"?

THAT my FRiend, is truly "out of touch." Believing that is as willfully deceiving as believing, in case you do, that my vote for a third party "is the same as voting for Obama."

Finny:

If she refuses to support Romney, she shoots right to the top and IS the new Reagan and maybe then some.

If she is effectively forced to endorse Romney, I will be quite disappointed but I will forgive her as I would forgive few others.

I used to be involved nationally in GOP youth groups (YRs, CRs, YAF) and with Reagan's campaign against Ford. I have a very good idea of just how hard she will be pushed to endorse Romney. Ford threatened a very major GOP contributor that, if there were any evidence of the contributor supporting Reagan against Ford, the contributor would be prosecuted fairly or not by the IRS and destroyed. These guys play hardball. Since only Sarah is of any real value to Romney and since he must insist on her moral submission (what Ayn Rand called "the sanction of the victim") to damage Sarah with her base, only Sarah will be targeted like that.

I don't dispute a word that you post but we MUST recognize that the pressures on Sarah will not be reported even here much less in the LSM. She resigned the governorship when relentlessly harassed by her corrupt enemies in both Alaska parties. She is a very shrewd and smart lady but she is still quite young and needs time to emerge on her own terms and the GOP-E whores will do whatever they can to destroy her and they will have the able assistance of Axelhole, the Demonrats and the LSM.

We need to accept the possibility that Sarah will be derailed from a strictly moral course by pressures that you and I will be fortunate never to suffer. She has a brain but she also is subject to human weakness as are we all. May God bless her and protect her, send His angels to her defense and include her, if He chooses, in His plan for our nation which just must be better than yours or mine or anyone else's.

May God bless you and yours!

Apparently you think my vote for a third party is the same as voting for Obama.

So, when a Libertarian or Independent votes third party, is that also the same as a vote for Obama?

What about when a disillusioned Democrat votes third party -- is that the same as a vote for Obama? Or would it be the same as voting for Romney in that particular case?

FRiend, face it: the idea that a vote that doesn't go to Romney "is the same as voting for Obama" is a fallacy.

Amen, Black Elk. Thank you for sharing your insight -- I fully expect Palin to officially endorse Romney specifically, it will disappoint me, and I will still vote the way I think is right -- not the way Levin, or Rush, or even Palin counsel.

And I would certainly forgive all three. Your enlightening post would make it that much easier.

God bless you too!

BlackElk, you lost me at “Romney Cheerleader”.

All I have ever said is that we are down to two choices in this Election, The Republican or the Communist.

Don't Vote for the Republican, you get the Communist. Don't bother Voting and convince others to do the same and you end up with every last down Ticket Republican getting decimated.

Obama, Pelosi and Reid will thank us for our lack of participation. I Voted for Newt and he lost. That is why we have Primaries. Republican Primary Voters picked Romney without any support from any FReeper I am aware of.

Everyone is still acting like we are at the beginning of the Primary Season. It's over. Don't attack the messenger. There is no Third Party Candidate, Write In Candidate or hope that another Republican Nominee will be chosen at the Convention. Reality is a bitch.

As far as your last point, I and others here believe we have a chance of influencing a RINO Republican President as we did with Bush. Not all the time, but a chance none the less.

You have no chance influencing Obama who thinks of us like we are his worst enemy. He will continue to do everything he can do to grind Conservatism into the ground. If you think Romney has the same mission in life, there is no point continuing the discussion. That is flat out ridiculous.

As I have said before, do what you think is right, but I assure you there are no Romney lovers here. Attacking your fellow FReepers for wanting Obama out accomplishes nothing.

Heated rhetoric and angry flying fingers on a keyboard are not changing any minds. Come November, what will be will be. We will still be here pontificating “what if” no matter the Election results.

No, "getting rid of Obama" is only half of the job. Getting rid of Romney is the other half. The order SHOULD have been 1) get rid of Romney and 2) If and ONLY if we get rid of Romney, then get rid of Obozo. 1) was not accomplished. Therefore 2) CANNOT be accomplished except by electing Romney who, whether you want to believe it or not, is just as bad as Obozo. If Romney is nominated, make a lot of popcorn, sit back and watch the farce and politically destroy the "winner."

"Getting rid of Obama"is YOUR goal and that of others who lie even to themselves and hopefully not a soul-destroying obsession that will distract Sarah from the path of principle.

From 2012 to January 21, 2016, if EITHER of these major party major disaster bastards is elected, nothing else will matter but the political destruction of the winner and either the complete seizure of the GOP or its destruction: take your pick.

I despise Obozo but that does not keep me from despising Romney as well.

Heated rhetoric and angry flying fingers on a keyboard ...

Rhetoric?

You have no chance influencing Obama who thinks of us like we are his worst enemy.

THAT, my FRiend, is rhetoric.

If Obama faces a Republican/conservative dominated Congress where its own Republican moderates have seen "moderate" soundly rejected, Obama would be "influenced" no matter what he thinks of us.

Romney, on the otherhand, would have the support of moderates AND Democrats. Romney would make conservatives the minority. Evidence is very strong that Romney holds conservatives in the same contempt Obama does.

A single Republican Administration has a limited impact on future Presidents, Democrat or Republican.

A stacked Progressive Supreme Court has a major impact on generations of Americans no matter which Party is running things.

Nice try with the cute Edit, but completely nonsensical.

Well, even if we can’t agree on candidates, we can agree to unite after the election and find some common purposes. I don’t see any one election as determining our final destinies.

God has a role in all this, too.
