I have my own response to anyone talking disparagingly about “Newt’s baggage”.

If at 68, a man has not “baggage”, that means his life was empty and his achievements were nil.
Talk about a “baggage”:

The first Republican Speaker of the House in 40 years (1995-1999)

Quite a “baggage” indeed!
NO OTHER candidate present or on the sides is more qualified and ready for the huge task than Newt Gingrich to become the next President of the United States of America.
They all have baggage. It is called living and leading. Get a grip. I’ll carry his baggage any day. No one else, save Newt, has the experience and the ability to turn our country around. That should matter most.
You deceive yourself.
Newt has no more baggage than you, me or anyone else, including (especially) all politicians.
He only has had more scrutiny from the media.
This is a perfect opportunity to cite John 8:7—”Whichever one of you has committed no sin may throw the first stone.”
And what gives distinction to Gingrich is the fact that he has repented.
