On a separate note, when Reagan was nominated the RINOs were pushing the idea of a Co- Presidency with either Ford, Rockefeller or another one of their guys pulling the strings from behind the scenes. Reagan declined of course but chose Bush as running mate to appease them. Now where's that tin foil?
I also think that is what Palin was referring to, but even if primaries were held until the cows come home, there will not be a level playing field. The establishment and media will openly or "subtly" choose the candidates, then give the public its (the establishment's) choice.

I’m disappointed in Sarah’s rationale for voting for Newt. Why should we keep the process going? Newt is far more articulate and, apparently, intelligent than Sarah, so I prefer her in the VP slot.

I live in Massachusetts, and this infuriated me because Romney was AWOL during the last 1-2 years of his governorship, as he prepared to run for president. Massachusetts was effectively lacking a governor.
He gets a complete pass. At least Sarah left the governorship with a conservative successor in mind.
Sarah’s message of ‘allow the process to go on’ and ‘level the playing field’ is lost to many voters who form opinions only from the media and the ads they see.
Wish she will quit Fox news and outright say what she wants - vote for Gingrich the one who has proven to be the most conservative who can beat obama!
She knows money can buy votes. What she says occassionally will not drown out the brain-washing ‘message’ (the attack ads) that money can buy and get intended results. Plus for every word she utters, there are thousands counter words from the E and the lamestream!
Sarah needs to make her message clear! As the ‘palinized’ person she should understand what Gingrich is going through and she should take the war to them. Sarah, if you are serious, endorse Gingrich and stump with him!
That was a weak statement of support Sarah...but thanks for at least standing against the lies! Now team Newt needs to expose those lies about his “fines” and quitting in “disgrace”. Let’s roll!
Thanks very much but I’ve already heard him say he will vote for him if he’s the nominee, so I’ll stick with my opinion that he’s keeping Santorum alive to split the vote.
For the remainder of the Primaries it would be all Newt/Sarah.

Actually, I don’t believe that would be a good GOP team in the general election.
Now, on the other hand, if the GOP-E gets its puppet nominated, I’d be all in for that ticket on a 3rd party run.
Also, I think Sarah has to get off the fence. As she knows, this process is not about Newt- it’s an attack on the conservative grassroots base-—her base. She can’t allow it to be steamrolled and marginalized to the point that it is no longer considered a threat to the establishment.
I agree, I don’t think she knows how a sentence will end when she starts one. And, I couldn’t figure out how her opening remarks squared with her “keeping the process going” comments.
Plus - maybe it was the lighting - but that was the least attractive I have seen her. It was like she aged considerably (not that an older lady can’t be attractive, mind you).
It would mean no clear winner and a brokered convention.
How she looks is a lot less important than what she says and how she feels. If she weren’t such a public figure what she says wouldn’t matter either.
We are in for flaming or zots for having dared to be the least bit critical of Sarah Palin.

Playing the victim card is manipulation - a liberal tactic.

I agree. And they aren’t subtle about it. Not sure why others can’t connect the dots for they are big enough to see. Perhaps too embarrassed to admit they are being screwed with.

Leveling the playing field is a socialist idea.
They should be the best they can be and aim for the top.
Well life is not fair and people do not have equal abilities in all areas. Each candidate should use his/her comparative advantage. This is a competition. People should vote for the candidate who they like the most and not just to level the playing field. It is like an employer who hires the best guy he can get for the job. The person may not be perfect person. Nobody is perfect.
If Palin thinks she could do a better job, she should run. She was capable of running a campaign, but I think she blew it when she declined.
