If you turn on his radio show for even a few minutes, you’ll hear him and his sidekicks cheering Romney and trashing Newt

I listen to more than just a few minutes of his radio show every day. I go to work an hour early just so I can hear the first hour without distraction. I subscribe to GBTV and watch his internet broadcast almost every night.

I see and hear very little Romney cheering. If anything, Beck blasts Romney as being a big government Republican.

The only Republicans I've heard Beck speak admiringly of is Rick Santorum, Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry.

But even he had harsh things to say about some Perry's actions as Governor. He spoke admiringly of Herman Cain until all the Biden hit the fan on those sexual harrassment charges.

You can't really blame Beck if Romney and Gingrich are unable to defend/explain themselves.

In fact, if Gingrich COULD come up with explanations, he would hit a home run that would circle the globe and he would relegate Beck to the ash heap of history with one swat.

I'm still Team Gingrich. But I'm also Team Beck. I go both ways.

Wait. Let me rephrase that. Oh, crap. Did I already hit the "post" button?

Here's the deal. If Romney gets the nomination you can expect: a CBS Special around October on Mormon polygamy, Historical reports on the Mormon massacre back in the day, debate questions about the more exotic Mormon beliefs re godhood and so forth. Maybe even the white horse prophecy someone mentioned. Woofie would love to throw that out there, ask Mitt if he thinks he's the guy on the white horse.

It will be a full on assault and the "religious community" outside the LDS won't say a thing about it.

To me, Beck has been suspect since a few months after the first 9/12 March on DC. He never stated the actual size of the crowd... not even close. I was there. I have tons of photos.

Then the next year, he began heavily promoting HIS event which just happened to fall just 3 weeks before 9/12 of the following year with hardly a mention of the 9/12 event. Oh, he went to great length describing the size of HIS event but never mentioned that is was about HALF the size of the prior year 9/12 event.

That was when I saw him for the self-promoter he truly is. I’m sure he’s made tons of money from his new site(s)... even some of mine. BUT, when he has preached AGAINST progressives so hard and so long and them works so hard for Romney, it boggles the mind. Just yesterday, I watched video of Mittens declaring himself a “MODERATE Republican with PROGRESSIVE views”. In the past week, two of his campaign ADVISORS have plainly stated that HE WILL NOT repeal ObamaCare.

Romney’s statement that it’s different if a state does it is pure bullshit. I live in Cape Coral, Florida. If the city of Cape Coral or Lee County Florida or the state of Florida or the state of Massachusetts or the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT runs health care, IT’S STILL GOVERMENT RUN HEALTH CARE.

The progressives want 2 trillion more of the economy under goverment control (1/7th of 14 tril) via health care. As Rush says, that will be the ballgame.

LOL! No worries!

I watched the Fox show, used to lurk here and enjoy the live thread, and I subscribed briefly to GBTV, but I just couldn’t take any more. On Friday I turned on Beck’s show, and he, Pat, and Stu were playing snippets of Romney at the debate, yelling, “Good stuff! Good stuff! He OWNED Gingrich!” Even my husband, who is more cool-headed than I, says he can’t listen to his crap anymore.

Okay. Now I got something to work with. I don't mind being PROVED wrong. To do so usually takes examples. Something the newbie wouldn't provide. I missed that exchange between Glenn and his sidekicks, but, luckily, I am still a subscriber to GBTV so I can go back and check it out.

In reply, I would point out Beck's discussion with Ann Coulter a few days earlier about her support for Mitt Romney. Suffice to say, it wasn't a love-fest.

Bottom line: Regardless of who our candidate is, The RATS and their blood-sucking fleas in the media are going to come after our candidate with a fervor we haven't seen since, well, since the last time The Republican Party deigned to put up a candidate against a DemocRAT.

To paraphrase Princess Leia, The Tea Party is our only hope. We better get a ton of Tea Partiers elected to Congress this year.

“Newt’s own voice out of context is a real manipulation...or from years ago where he said something dumb. Glenn is doing the same thing that he HATES about what the media has done to him. He has become what has irritated him and now he is playing the same game just thinking that somehow he is justified in it. How sad.”

I agree. His ego has gone nuclear. The other day, he took a break from Newt-bashing and segued right into that syrupy, pious tone he uses, and he said, “Darkness is coming and we must all be a flash of light.” LOL, really?
He spends all his time savaging Newt, mocking people who support him, and ignoring Romney’s black record, and he’s going to preach morality to others?

I certainly agree with you there. This primary/election season is shaping up to be a bloodbath like nothing I’ve seen.

And I’m still praying for Florida......

I wasn't there, so I'll take your word for it.

Just for the record, though. What was the actual size of the crowd?

Maybe there was more to that phone call he got and he’s doing his master’s bidding rather than suffer the consequences.

He lost me last week when he flew off the handle at a very reasonable woman caller and hung up on her. This seemed to me very dishonest when he is always saying to the audience to “do your own research, question everything, even me”. Then someone questions him in reasonable way and he went ballistic. Trending very done with him at this point. Also tired of the cliff-hanger “coming soon” stuff. He now belongs on the old Art Bell show.

I agree 100%. I think Romney would be a disaster and hate the way the GOP is destroying itself. We need conservatives and not the blue blood lib republicans.
There is a reason why the dems and media are cheering for Romney. He would be beaten.
Before the last election, I received a call from the RNC who called Obama the most radical person ever to run for president. I agreed and they asked me to send money to support McCain. I told them never and that I was a conservative and not a republican. The GOP has lost its way and they talked the talk and did not walk the walk.
Basically told them to stuff it and never call again. McCain would have been bad for the conservative movement, If you remember, Obama’s handlers called McCain an extremist conservative. WHAT ??? Romney admits being a progressive and moderate. The media are pathetic having never vetted Obama. Even Fox News is bad.

What is the problem: Glenn Beck is a MORMON, he is deeply devouted to the CULT and thoroughly deceived and that colors EVERYTHING.

According to:

NYT - 10,000
WoPo - Thousands

Both newspapers from that evening while waiting to get back on the bus for the trip home.

Fox News and Beck - 70,000

The next day/week on TV.

UK Guardian - 1.5 to 2 million

The next day on the way home. BTW, why have they become such a much better source for truth about other matters about what is going on here?

Two different park rangers around noon; one said much larger than the inauguration crowd while the second about a half hour later said well over 1 million. Both were before they were prohibited from giving estimates.

Who knows for sure, but I had KC Chiefs season tickets for a great many years before moving to Florida. I saw numerous crowds over 70,000 and those were not even a fraction of what I saw that day.

We arrived in DC at the bus station around 7am. We were supposed to gather at Freedom Square and march to the area around the steps at the capitol building mid-day. The crowd was so large by 9 that all the streets around Freedom Square were shut down so there was a request to start the march then. When we arrived we were told that we “hoped” to have about 50,000 total. When we were near the steps during the march and the street was full from the buildings on one side to the buildings on the other, from the steps back to Freedom Square, I knew we were well over many times that number. As I climbed the hill and looked around, it wasn’t only the street from Freedom Square but nearly every street surrounding the area for as far as I could see.

I found the size to be both exhilarating and a bit frightening. I thought Fox would report accurately but I think they were as frightened by the turnout as the others. Throughout the day, I moved from one area to the next listening to groups talking that were way out of range of the speakers. The discussions were all similar... too much spending and too much government. Everyone said there were many more people “back home” that wanted to come but couldn’t.

I think that march scared a lot of folks... and not just the liberals. I think the mainstream republicans are using all of the power they can muster to put it down. If Romney is the nominee and keeps Obamacare (as his surrogates have said he would) or loses the election, that will effectively be the end of the Republican party.

Glenn Beck—”I have to tell you that Mitt Romney could be the only guy that could win, and I don’t know if he could because I think that Americans are going to be I mean, this country is going to be in deep trouble by 2012, and the next term, if it’s not decided this term, the next term will decide our fate. Then I hope that Americans are ready for an adult and are ready for hard news.”
