There is no Constitutional right to bear arms. It is a right "endowed by our Creator." The Constitution doesn't give any rights at all it only defines the protection of them.

What is the difference between "personal autonomy" and "free will?"

It’s called the bill of rights not the bill of protections. Read the Ninth Amendment.

This is a good question.

Free Will, states that we, ultimately, decide our own fates. That we can choose to defy God.

Autonomy, is self-rule.

Christians believe (other religions believe different things), that Free Will comes from God. That he is the one who is in control. Thus, even though we have free will, we are not rulers of our self. We are not our own masters, because it’s God who has granted us this freedom.

This is why God teaches us that we have to give up our autonomy in order to be one with him, but we do not give up our Free Will. We are no longer our own masters, but we still have our individuality.

Picture a room, a white room. Nothing exists outside of you. That is autonomy. You have full control over everything in that room, nothing in that room happens unless you choose to do it.

This is what Santorum is talking about here - it’s not the real world, and if you attempt to make that white room the way that people work, you fail.
