What do you have against Coolidge?
And Bush was pretty good considering he gave us 2 solid judges (after prodding), cut cap gains taxes, pushed for privatization of part of social security, and vetoed a bill that let federal money go to embryonic stem cells.
And its not like Senators have been all that great. But populists are never happy, I guess.
What would you rather have?
A 3 term congresswoman with no leadership and no proposed legislation?
A 2 term Senator who lost his last election because conservatives wouldnt support him?
A businessman who has never won a nomination?
The point was that all this talk of the value of government "executive experience" of Governors does mot jibe with reality. It's not like you can point to how good governors are as Presidents. The rhetoric does not match reality, therefore the value of government "executive experience" from being a governor is dubious. More than that, I believe we need to end the reliance on professional career politicians for our leadership. It has not worked out and we can see that the People do not trust them. Its time to return to finding the top person for the job not just the top politician.
