Actually, Romney's record on immigration in MA is quite strong. Romney opposed amnesty. Vetoed driver's licenses for illegals. Insisted on English immersion and instated a very similar law to AZ's law in MA. Read here:

ENFORCEMENT: In December 2006, Governor Romney Signed A Memorandum Of Agreement With The Federal Government To Allow State Troopers To Enforce Federal Immigration Laws. .“Governor Mitt Romney and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Assistant Secretary Julie L. Myers today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and ICE, which will give specially trained Massachusetts State Troopers the authority to administer and enforce federal immigration laws in the Commonwealth.” (Office Of The Governor, “Governor Romney, ICE Sign Immigration Enforcement Pact,” Press Release, 12/13/06)

IN-STATE TUITION: Governor Romney Vetoed In-State Tuition For Illegal Immigrants. “Romney also vetoed a number of outside sections of the budget, including:…A plan that would have permitted illegal aliens to pay the same in-state tuition rate at our public colleges and universities as Massachusetts citizens.” (Office Of The Governor, “Romney Signs $22.402B Fiscal Year 2005 ‘No New Tax’ Budget,” Press Release, 6/25/04)

It is astonishing that the tea party folks are bending over for Perry.... the guy who supported Vicente Fox's vision for open borders, praised Hillarycare and was Al Gore's campaign chairman in Texas. If those are not all red flags...I don't know what is! If nothing else, it shows very bad judgment. Very leery of him... in a trojan horse kind of way. Just sayin'......

Perry: "President Fox’s vision for an open border is a vision I embrace." http://governor.state.tx.us/news/speech/10688/

Perrys vision of open borders is the vision of the border we have with Canada.

Nobody gives a toss about that open border.
We need to address the problems in Mexico to reform Mexico.
A gov in a lone state has limited power to address these issues.

Perry is NOT a guy that intends for the US taxpayer to give Mexico a blank check.

And in the 2008 campaign, Romney was one of the candidates who was anti-amnesty and pro-enforcement throughout the campaign. And after Tancredo dropped out, he endorsed Romney as did Sheriff Joe and others.

Nothing is accomplished by misrepresenting Romney's stance on this issue no matter what his faults might be. Many voters remember and it can be researched.
