Similar point - Charlie Cook said neighborhoods with a Starbucks are more likely to vote Democrat than their income levels would suggest. If there’s a cause/effect here it might be that the free community newspapers in coffee shops tend to have a liberal bent. I’m not sure how you’d jump start conservative alternatives though.

Maybe it is because Fourbucks Coffee is usually located in urban areas where left wingers live.

I just checked a map of local Starbucks. Most locations are in solid GOP voting areas. Charlie Cook may be just full of gas, which looks right if you have ever seen him.
