When criticizing Gov. Perry and the Texas economy, keep in mind that this very large state has NO state income tax. Also, the U.S. Census does not count the true population of the state. We have an 800-mile border with Mexico and are paying billions in benefits to tens of thousands of illegal aliens because the federal government orders Texas to educate, medicate and incarcerate them.
RicK perry did not “Give” us no income tax. we had none when he came into office, and we had to beat back attempts TWICE to add a state income tax.
We are blessed with Oil, and Oil has gone up 3-5X in the last 10 years.
That’s the “real” secret of why the debt in texas is not bigger.
