Doesn’t change my mind. I like her. And I like her better than Sarah, as a leader. I think she has been much more solid on conservative financial issues than Palin.
But....I would like to know why Savage no longer likes her. He was really touting her a few months ago. Now, he seems to be upset with Bachmann.

As a leader, what has she accomplished?

Needs more elaboration, with supportive links/materials preferably.

"I think she has been much more solid on conservative financial issues than Palin."
This is my big issue. In my mind there is not even a question when it comes to who is more conservative. Palin's record is not one of a consistent conservative. Conservatives rally to her because the left has unfairly attacked her; When she was first chosen by McCain, that was my instinct as well. She was getting attacked unfairly and I really wanted to bend over backwards to give her the benefit of the doubt. I knew about her support for LOST, the Bridge to Nowhere, the Bush TARP plan, etc., but wanted her to come around and be a champion of the conservative cause. She was charismatic and I thought she might be able to fill that role. My doubts started when she gave that ridiculous line about quitting because she did not want to go the typical politicians route of hanging unto office as a lame duck. The Governors office in Alaska is term limited after two consecutive terms. Being half way through her first term would not put her in the situation of being a lame duck. This was a pure B.S. excuse that raised a red flag with me. I still wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt but became more discouraged when she seemed to be more interested in seeking celebrity than schooling herself on the issues. I have yet to hear her repudiate support for LOST, Cap and Trade, the Bridge to Nowhere, the Bush TARP Plan, etc. I finally came to the conclusion that she was essentially a McCain style populist who was playing the role of a conservative in time to catch a Tea Party wave.
I also went back and viewed a lot of her old media interview clips from the 2008 campaign with a new found objectivity and had to admit that a lot of the damage was self inflicted. She gave new meaning to the term deer in the headlights. Some of these clips were absolutely painful to watch. One was used practically verbatim as a script for a SNL parody. I could reach no other conclusion then that she is an absolute disaster when forced to articulate a position off script. Her much praised ability of going around the media is a case of making a virtue out of necessity. She is scared to death of the prospect of going through again what she did in 2008 when she was thrown unprepared to the wolves. Instead of preparing herself, she has created her own media megaphone. It may draw attention to her and help bring in the cash but it will not get her elected. She is better off playing the role of a conservative Oprah Winfrey, but should not be looked to as a serious spokesman for conservatism.
