Mark Helprin is the author (Refiner’s Fire, Winter’s Tale, A Soldier of the Great War, Memoir From Antproof Case, and Freddy and Fredericka) and strategic military figure who was a speach writing consultant for Dole in ‘96 and is about 18 years older and 40 IQ points ahead of the MSNBC shill, Mark E. Halperin (with an “e” in the last name. He wrote some op-eds at the time of 9/11 that were masterful including “We Beat Hitler, We Can Vanquish This Foe Too.” Wall Street Journal, 12 September 2001.
He somewhat dropped out of op-ed commentary and stayed busy at the Claremont Institute when his observations of how to run the Iraq war were belittled by the Bush adminstration and the NeoCons, IMHO. He was correct, we became entangled and eventually had to mount a late effort to finally achieve a general control.

He defends he political biases in the 2004 and 2008 elections. Recognizes them and just shrugs his shoulders. He’s a worthless partisan hack.
