One candidate, maybe; one loose cannon (The Left wants Romney so bad they can taste it)

You didn’t answer my question. Should she run as a indepentent? I think she should. Force the gop to support her from the wings, if they will. We are out of options.

Only as the LAST option. Ross Perot gave us Bill Clinton and Mr. Obama is MUCH worse than 42.

Like Napolean, we have to crush two enemies. Split them and with superior forces defeat them one at a time.

” I think Trump’s only purpose is to split conservative’s/Tea Party voters. “ ==========

Here’s the future. It’s either Trump or Romney because we the base are not picking the next president, Independents are and they are not a conservative lot. Unless a dark horse comes out of the fog into the lead it will be Trump or Romney.

Truthfully, Trump wants votes from everybody and thinks he can get them from every party, because Obama is so bad. If Trump thinks he can win, he will do that in whatever party he needs too regardless who splits where. He belongs really to know one. If he stumbles and realistically believes he won’t win he will withdraw. I like him terrorizing the White House, the Leftist media and the uppity RINOs and intend to thoroughly enjoy the ride as long as it lasts, since it was crickits from the rest of our illustrious line until he walked up and kicked the door down. SOONERS UP. :)

With apologies, your looking at this too simply. Change is made by what isn’t expected. Otherwise, we could all see it coming.
I could be very wrong. I don’t think Palin is counting on corporate donations. I think if she runs she’ll get enough coverage from the msm to cover what she doesn’t get from corporations, until they wise up.
I see columnists stating she won’t run because she’s making too much money. She’s running and will win.
I will say this though, are we sure that if she wins that the average American wins? Bush was heavily supported and we see how that ended. I’m not anti-Bush but you get my point. I think she makes a phenomenal change to America for the good.

My worst nightmare is that BO won’t face a primary challenge and the left will cross over in the thousands to vote in our primaries to give us the worst possible outcome, either Romney or Huckabee or (ugh) McCain.

Please Lord, have mercy on us and help us understand all that we must do to elect a true conservative, provide us with the energy and determination to once again be a righteous and God fearing nation, in the name of Your Holy Son, Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen.

I could beat Mr. Obama if I had the Republican nomination, and so could you.

As I recall, Ted Kennedy was that cocky in 1980 before the pathetic Jimmy Carter "whipped his ass".

The way that a pathetic candidate can win an election is to run against a candidate that the voters believe is even MORE pathetic.

In New Hampshire:

Obama leads Mike Huckabee by 8 points, Tim Pawlenty by 16, Haley Barbour by 19, Donald Trump by 22 and Sarah Palin by a yawning 27-point margin.

You’re joking aren’t you. Absolutely no one who praises, defends and makes nice with Obama deserves to be the republican nominee. That means just say no to Huntsman.

I’ve been thinking.... why can’t we play the same game as those idiots and push for their candidates on their side... for example, the dodo bird the won the (fraudulent) election in Alaska... What’s her name again... Dipshitski.. or something like that?

Just imagine of we made the image to all of the dummies that SHE was the only option that they have for the next election..

What do you think? ;)

The three who have a shot are Mitt, Huck and Jeb. I think Jeb is thinking Obama will win and will run in 2016 but I would rather win in 2012. The choice is to nominate someone with a chance or Jeb gets it in 2016. My pick is John Bolton but I’m not giving him a shot at winning. I’d like to see him as VP though.

So anybody who isn’t a teetotaler is a chump? With that mindset, it’s no wonder you like Huntsman.

“Maybe Palin runs as a independant. Nothing will suprise me any more and neither would this”.
*****

Then you will have Obama for four more years. Trump would peel off more votes from the democrats, as I said in another thread, my black friends are digging Trump so there’s a real possibility that he can cross over and take a good slice of democrats if he’s having that kind of effect on my friends. Palin would never be able to break through to get enough votes from the Independents either, hell, I see how even among the people here how she isn’t even a lock so how in the world would she appeal to anyone not a conservative, much less indies and liberals?

What's wrong with you?

Don't you think that "RomneyCare is not quite as big of a fuster cluck as ObamaCare!" is a winning campaign slogan?

Here’s the future. It’s either Trump or Romney...

Way too early for that kind of talk. Four years ago, at this stage in the election cycle, it was commonly thought that the nominees would be Guiliani and Hillary and no one was taking Obama seriously. Plenty of time for someone to rise up and sweep the nation off its feet.

Personally, I think that 2012 could be the year of the Republican dark horse. The Tea Party has really changed the dynamics of the Republican Party and eliminated the "next in line" mentality. I think that some relatively unknown candidate will hit on a great theme which will fire up conservatives while not being offensive to moderate Republicans and independents and win the nomination.

You’re right. I should have said “Here’s the future-based on today-.” I don’t know where all the purported Romney support and money is coming from—it’s not from the people. I pray for a good dark horse.

Romney has his base with the LDS and some country club Republicans. Romney's problem is that the base isn't big enough alone to get him the nomination and as 2008 showed, the more people see of Mitt, the less they like him. Money isn't an issue with him because he can self-finance to a large degree.

I think that we will see a dark horse emerge to carry the conservative, Tea-Party banner. Personally, I don't think that Sarah is running or this role is hers.

I think that Democrats will try to invade enough primaries to make Romney the GOP nominee. They like him because they know he won’t win the general. It’s McCain all over again.

Romney, like certainly Trump, may expect to get votes from disenchanted democrats as well as Independents and RINO Republicans. The Left and Right are so polarized, that to win the general candidates are running toward a large circle of the middle, and the middle Left and the middle Right.

If conservatives determine the election to be close we have to name a candidate who attracts some of the moderate Left to win. I would hope, to win, that it can be rather Anybody But Obama. Our side’s favorites types like Palin, Bachman can only win if it’s Anybody But Obama. If Trump can’t win over the Tea Party he will have to go Independent.

You're probably right. If the economy tanks or some other major bad event occurs, Obama could face a primary opponent who claims the mantle of the moderate Democrat. It's not beyond possibility that Obama could face a hard-left opponent as well since the extreme left is mad that Obama isn't moving fast enough. Then the Democrats won't cross over.

They like him because they know he won’t win the general.

Very true.
