Folks here who see Palin as a great POTUS in waiting are falling for a cult of personality. The fact is she's not a great candidate nor does she look like much of a president. I really dislike her quitting as governor in AK. Don't care the "why" so much because the "quitter" label will resonate and stick. Politically, perception is reality.

Obama needs to be replaced with someone calm, capable and an experienced executive. I don't know who that is but I know it's not Palin or Huckabee. None of the names floated thrill me.

It's going to be an uphill battle either way. The natural tendency is to reelection a president. Over and above that, I can't help but think voters will be inclined to give Obama a "second chance" out of racial guilt.

There’s that “cult” word again.

Were supporters of conservative Ronald Reagan a “cult”?...

“Government is not the solution to the problem. Government is the problem”.

Is that the sort of thing, one hears in a cult?

The “natural tendency” is reelection during the worst economy since at least the 1930’s? With the complete takeover of the auto industry, the health care business, energy, public schools, the Internet and so much more? Really?

I believe your opinion is mistaken. I see it more from a point of view that given all available alternatives to her at this point in time, she comes out head and shoulders above any other "choice" that has presented itself.

No candidate is "perfect", and all have "flaws" and "negatives", not to mention "issues" that the left (the media) will hammer away at mercilessly.

Given that situation, her "negatives" are no worse than any other potential candidate, and in fact her position is much more favorable on that front than perhaps one or two other possible candidates. Name another candidate who is leaning towards running and we can predict exactly how the MSM will rip into that candidate for their "shortcomings".

All in all, she leads the pack as far as a conservative candidate that actually has a chance to win in 2012. You may not like the field that is available, but it is what it is, and so far she is the best we have to work with. Until a better candidate comes along, I see no point in talking down about a person whose values reflect those that post on this board more than just about any other you can name.
