Don’t know the exact quote (believe it was Bogart) but it went something like this “It’s a terrible thing to kill a man, you take away everything he is or ever will be”.

I believe that was Clint Eastwood as Will Munny in "Unforgiven". I found it listed as: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
