Virginia's three gubernatorial candidates each can recall traffic headaches he has encountered during this campaign season. Each can quickly name projects from Northern Virginia to Hampton Roads to Southwest Virginia he wants to jumpstart or get under way.

Jerry W. Kilgore, the Republican nominee for governor, said yesterday that the "liberal press is defending a liberal soulmate" -- Democrat Timothy M. Kaine -- from criticism of his opposition to the death penalty.

ROANOKE -- Looking for rural votes in their quests to become Virginia's lieutenant governor, the Democratic candidate yesterday proposed a limited tax break to help farmers while the Republican rival emphasized building better roads through rural areas.

Mac Watson pushed me over the edge yesterday. I don't know where the conversation started but what I heard him saying was that all charismatics are snake handlers. He went on to be very insulting to Christians and dared us to complain.
He literally said "get me fired if you don't like what I'm saying."
