I just cannot get rid of the feeling that this issue will divide religions and countries very shortly.

Well, the Church has produced martyrs before, perhaps there will be more now....

I just cannot get rid of the feeling that this issue will divide religions and countries very shortly. In my opinion it already is. In traditional Protestant denominations in the United States, the issue of homosexual behavior sharply divides between those that believe the Bible and those that don't. Many conservatives have gone to Southern Baptist Churches, Bible churches, or Assembly of God churches.

"I just cannot get rid of the feeling that this issue will divide religions and countries very shortly." If there are churches that keep silent in the face of such abominations, or worse, ordain and appoint them to positions of leadership as is now happening in the Episcopal church, then it should cause a division. Perhaps God is drawing a line in the sand so to speak, and it is up to us to choose whom we will serve....God or an apostate church. To me the choice is clear although I don't know what that will mean for me in terms of how I will worship since I am an Episcoplaian, but I am a Christian first and will have to trust God's guidance. It is an uncomfortable place to be nevertheless.

I think you hit the nail on the head, division is liberalism's (satan's) greatest tool, in all things we see it, divide parents and children, God and people, pit one group against the other (rich vs poor, black vs white), now people vs their religion and all this made easier by the dumbing down of the nation through decades of miseducation in school (is there such a word? no? well I just made it :).
