Novell has always been unix... didn't you kow that?
Besides, Microsoft is the best OS around. I want to have sex with Bill Gates, I like it so much.
I program in ALL of these environments, and the bottom line is this: Linux/Unix is superior to any MS operating system, but MS is still extremely good (especially win2000 the single best OS Mickeysoft ever made)- and there is so much more in tools and programs available to MS operating systems.
So Linux is great, MS is good too, but I program where the money is- and the world runs on MS. (yes, I know...except for web sites servers- but my gramma is NOT running a web site server, she is playing that damn solitaire all day long...)
Anything else is just argument from proponents who are just TOO emotionally involved...

No, I didn't know that. :) I remember something about Processor Independent Netware, but I don't remember much about what was going on under the hood except that Unixware was their SVR4 UNIX.
You're right that OS threads become holy wars. I don't dislike Microsoft, and I don't believe they're a monopoly. I'm even looking at getting an XP box soon. I think you ought to use the right tool for the job.
