Gee, in these kinds of situations, my hubby usually yells out, "GET A JOB!"

No kidding. If people *actually* want to belong to something "bigger than themselves" they should try volunteering at a homeless shelter, or find a church to join, or join the Peace Corps or something. Or even get involved in Community musical activities. this kind of behavior is as mindless and meaningless as lemmings rushing to the sea. "something bigger", in a pig's eye.

In addition to working, I also do volunteer work & donate item to various charities. I can find the time--I wonder why they can't?
