I don't see any specific mention of privacy [in the 9th Amendment].

The whole point of the 9th is NOT to mention any specifically. Do you mean to imply that the 9th, by not specifically mentioning other rights, does no allow the people to retain ANY rights other than those specifically mentioned in the others? What rights do you see in the 9th then?

Not at all. See my original post, number 9. If anything I think also the 10th is important and instructive here too. Really, I was asking the question.

At this point I still have questions. One of them revolves around the fact that I do find it hard to believe that the framers felt that privacy was a "natural right" that protected private morality. If they had, would they have not had problems with the many morality laws (e.g. against adultery) that existed at that time? I've not heard or read that this was the case. Why has it taken 200+ years to figure this one out?

However, I see all points of view have been amply argued in the 500+ posts since that early comment, so I will just sit here in stunned silence and try to decide what I think.
