Absolutely. I am being sincere here. I am also being both practical, and trying to see what is the best way to create the society that keeps us in fellowship
Does screaming at people, hurling invective at them, jailing them cause them to sin no more? Or does loving them as one of the sheep? That is all I am saying. Christ led by example. I just have this very old fashioned notion, that the way to lead those to the light, is being a light unto the world. One does not hide the light of a candle in a basket, but leaves it exposed to illuminate the room.
If one is angry, bitter when confronting those with a sinful unredeemed nature, they do not see truth. Do they become angry, bitter in return for their salvation?
If one is filled with joy with the Good News, one radiates an aura of that love of christ. The kingdom of God is inside you, and that is what exemplifies, models christian living to those who have not hit their mark.
I just don't get how witnessing in anger and hatred leads to love. If the fruits of the tree are sour, people will reject and chop down the tree.
This wasn't directed at you personally, and I do take to heart your reasoned tone, which I find personally admirable.
