People who are addicted to a drug are somehow not drug addicts? How is that name-calling? It was someone else who was equating a misdemeanor/minor infraction/public nuisance/pollution ticket with a Nazi gas chamber.

As far as I know, no one has ever done any such thing.

The reference to Nazi when it involves anti-smokers refers to the anti-smoker position/attitude/stance of the 3rd reich. when one looks at things historically (which everyone should) it is very clear that the term "nazi" is not undeserved by the anti-smoker contingent of the late 20th and early 21st century.

But to put it into a more current time-frame - anti-smoker jihad would be appropriate.

Do you drink coffee in the morning? You know that makes you a drug addict too. Caffeine is really not much worse than nicotine. The withdrawal symptoms of caffeine hurt a whole lot worse though.

"I understand how supporting compulsive behaviors might be important to drug addicts,"

And with that statement you are implying that all smokers are drug addicts.
I can read your mind so don't deny it.
So don't go all sanctimonious on us, just admit that is what you meant and we can then class you with the other anti-smokers.
If that's NOT what you meant, you need to start looking closer at your posts to see the implications that are there.
